An interest in optimization and data-driven decision making has led me to follow the master of science in industrial engineering and operations research. Through elective courses such as Big Data Science, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence I strive to acquire a skillset cut out to apply these fields to industrial applications, either in-house or from a consulting perspective. Besides technical aspects, I am also interested in the management side of businesses and their supporting IT infrastructure.
Next to having an active interest in technical subjects, I am also engaged in organisations related to them. I have been a student representative in the student programme committee of electrical engineering and am now active in the committee of industrial engineering and operations research. As a student representative, I advise the committee in decisions influencing the programme and am a bridge between the students and those responsible for the programme. I also am member of the board of the ORlean and Feunig student groups. ORlean organises events of interest to IEOR students, whilst Feunig focuses on consultancy.
